I'm Ready To Face It

I am ready to face my fear
Bring it here
I am ready for it to stare me right in my face
And write it in ink therefore I can not erase
I have made up myths, lies, and fables
Bring it here
At my tear-stained table
I denied it
I tried my best to hide it
But I am ready
Covered up my frowns with dreams
But I can not understand these things that I dream until I face my fear
I begged you to lie to me
I’ve been obliviously lied to for years
And now I ask you to tell the truth
So I can arise and claim back my youth
Tell me the truth and bring it to the table
Give it to me blunt and bold
I am willing and I am able
I have matured and I am ready to take on the task
There however is one thing I shall ask
And that is to spell it out leaving nothing to question
Give me the riddle and do not leave me guessing
And Death tells me they are gone for eternity
Never to enter this world again
So when you cry at night to bring them back is not going to make you win
However, have faith that their soul rests in heaven
They are gone. They are gone. Now continue with life and let there be no guessing

Be Careful

Be careful who you trust
They just may not have your best interest at heart
Lies are deceitful
Deception is planned from the start
Blinded by the dark
You fail to see what is false
You become numb and all of your senses began to dissolve
Once you've seen through the thick and hazy fog
Everything becomes clear
After the one you trust
Is nowhere near
Disappeared
It hurts
Now you live in fear
It burns
It cuts so deep
That now the first thing you look for in people is deceit
Paranoia becomes a part of the day to day life
You begin to turn on the lights, when it is already bright
The effects of someone can affect your whole life
Causing for you to think twice
Be careful who you trust
Be aware of who you trust
Be careful

Unrecognized Beauty

132
Eyes of baby blue
Sitting on a pair of thighs
that makes her 5'5
A body that makes the fellas tongues wet; and their lips dry
Hair touching her waist
And a slightly curled bang to accentuate her face
Body built to perfection
Everyone calls her from the models to the ballers
But all she wants is a man to just call her..
Beautiful
See all her life she's been nothing but an expensive vase
Beautiful on the outside
But nothing within
Every relationship dealt with lust
And the question she asked only involved the word "us"
But that was to much for chuck
So he dodged and ducked
Her questions and proceeded to corrupt her innocence
Her intelligence is never recognized
Because it is overshadowed by her "Thick" thighs
Her talent is never recognized
Because No one can see past her exotic blue eyes
So she sits and fears that the truth can only be discovered
Through the tears
That which she cries

Latent Learning

She watches her mother button up her coat and leave for the first job of the day
Older sister headed to work
And little brother is too young to understand the word pay
She’s only nine at the time but she understands
The effects that a single parent home has without a man
Daddy sick, but not in that sense
He disappeared and didn’t leave a cent
She prays to the Lord and ask for blessings after she repents
And knows this food on the table is heaven sent
Her tears grow smaller as she grows older
And the taller she gets the more her heart grows colder
She falls into the cycle and has a child
But she was different than her friends she wasn’t running wild
He loved her and she thought she felt the same
But the cold pain in her heart told her a different thing
She pushes his love away along with his money
He started saying “Money isn’t an object”, She just laughed like it was funny
She continues to work with her nails deep in the dirt with the same old shirt that she wiped her tears of yesterday with, along  WITH the pain AND the hurt
And with both of their income she can fulfill that Christmas list plus some
But she can do it on her own
She doesn’t need a man ,  for this
Thanks to latency, Momma helped her to understand
How to survive in the world without a man

The Final Plateau

Reached a new level, a higher a plateau
Confused from here, but I know where to go
There is only one way to escape my lows
To escape the pain and negotiate my woes
Let the truth be told
All I need to do is pray
Thank the lord for waking me up to see another day
And thank the lord for making a way
But sometimes I shake my head in dismay
Saying why me? Why must I be lead astray
Why must I be the one to sit on the sun and feel the heat
Watching the world as it crumbles beneath my feet
Why must my senses work with the stench that the earth seeps
Through the cracks of the clubs, bars and pubs
Why must I be the one to feel the wrath
When I try to run to and reach what is almost in my grasp
I knew this feeling was not going to last, once I reached this plateau
This new level of happiness lasted for a second
I guess that’s what I get for second guessing.. myself that is
But from on in the words of that one rapper who seems to have it all “ima handle my biz”
Maybe then I can reach the plateau of wiz or the caliber of jay z
By the sounds of this you may think im crazy
But im sorry, im far from lazy
And I refuse to be last
I refuse to suffer from famine of the mind
Quality education
I will take, and nurture as if it was all mines
And I will surpass, and outlast those who doubt
And once I reached  the mountain top
I will feel complete
knowing that I am everything, except for weak

Obscure

I can not seem to escape these four walls
It’s like I am trapped
As bad as I want to shelter myself from the world
I long to see the faces and personalities that it possess
I would rather be out with friends than lay in bed and rest
I can rest when the time comes
My eyes shine like stars in the midnight sky
My heart beats louder than the drums played by my African ancestors
My palms sweat more than the fat man in the Sauna
My mouth dryer than the Sahara
My tears run father than the Nile
If I can not escape, then I would rather go back to being a child
Where I could be anything and let my imagination run wild.
Where freestyles were free
And gay was a term for happy
But I can not even be what the world wants me to be
Because I am blinded by depression to the point where I can no longer see

Wonder Woman

Holding the weight of the world on her shoulders
To stare in the eyes of danger which is colder
Than the North Pole
That’s what many are told
But only she can conjure up enough energy
Bold.
She is
To take everyone’s problems
And have everyone’s back
And never see her break a sweat
Never has she cracked
It’s hard to adhere to others
When deep inside you are slowly being smothered
Scared of being discovered
For her true weakness.
She takes her pen and paper to proceed
To escape reality
When writing it feels like she is defying the laws of gravity
Scientifically speaking she is no Einstein but
She has the ability to know what is on someone’s mind
But she can not explain her own
Her powers have over grown.
People are her weakness, her kryptonite that allows her facial features to absorb the tears
in which her eyes produce
that will eventually take years away from her youth.
However, she can not allow that to be shown.
So she displays her feelings through poetry to make this weakness known.
